Always Like A Child At Your Feet

Heavy and spiralling down

Light born underground

Sun shining beneath my feet

Sky blue soft and sweet

I am padding along

all fours on the ground

weight of my children’s children

Heavy,

warm on my back.

Mothers,

We are source

We are cause

Our children are the pre dawn singing

Cacophony of awakening

Rustling, reimagining, remaking

They are all Song

Words, deftly woven, into morning light.

I am Mother

I am huMan

I am Unshackled Land

I am Mountains, Rivers, Valleys, Oceans

I am a single grain of sand

I am all fucked up

I am coming undone

I am done and drunk on the light of undoing

I am a day-tripper tripping

on the trip

That keeps me slipping

Back underground

But

I am also

Light

I am also

Mystery

I am seeker

I am seeking

I was self-censored

Now I am self-rebelling

I tripped through hardness into healing

Hard time dealing

Hard loves that still need healing.

Please don’t touch me

I might jump.

When was ‘I’ born

Where did ‘I’ fall astray?

When did I stop turning the world

on its side

and decide

That it was fine,

and beautiful,

And right

just this way?

Just in this way?
