Life In A Northern Town; (One)

Rising Sun
Rising Moon
Rising Tide
Medicine, here, inside
Steady Heart
Patient Mind

While
We are still
Fumbling,
Fighting,
Falling,
Finding,

Our way back to a

Freedom

that is, ironically,
Always
Always
Always
At our side.

Who dances with coyote in the morning light?
I do. I do.
Who dances with coyote every morning? Every Morning?
I do. I do.
Who dances with coyote every morning? Every Morning?
I do. I do.

And you may not see me, active in prayers and praxis

But each morning I turn and greet the ground as if for the first time
Kissing the soil without the hesitations - your “He”sitations
I drink in the warmth of her glory
This sweet medicine soil
For we are made to turn soil
And up-root
And climb tree
And Divine Sky

We are made to soar and
Cross mountains and
Make love on ocean shores.

We are meant to dream.
To love.
To seek.
To find what our ancestors sought.

We are born to find a way to build the peace,
that we all seek inside.
